The National Office for Gambling (ONJN) announced that, during a recent meeting, it added approximately 800 illegal gambling sites to the blacklist, thus joining the 370 sites previously included in the current mandate.

This action is part of ONJN's efforts to combat the black market and improve monitoring and control capacity. The president of ONJN, Vlad-Cristian Soare, emphasized that the legislation has been amended to allow the issuance of orders to remove illegal content, and Romania has become a leader in the regulation of online gambling.

Additionally, ONJN is working on digitizing processes and developing advanced monitoring tools.

Since the establishment of the institution in 2013, approximately 1,500 illegal sites have been added to the blacklist, and ONJN continues to take firm action to protect players and combat illegal operators.
