At the Chiuza City Hall in Bistrița-Năsăud County, police conducted searches on Friday in a fraud case related to heating assistance for vulnerable individuals. As part of the investigation, six employees are suspected of forming a criminal group, falsifying aid requests in the names of individuals who did not apply for these funds.

They allegedly forged signatures on payment sheets and embezzled a total amount of nearly 280,000 lei. Investigators continue their inquiries to determine the exact damage and to establish charges of forming an organized criminal group, abuse of office, embezzlement, and forgery in official documents. The individuals involved have been taken for questioning at the police headquarters.
