In Warsaw, Oana Ţoiu, head of the Romanian diplomacy, reaffirmed the importance of Article 5 of NATO, emphasizing that each allied country contributes to collective security through its military capabilities. In the context of France's proposal to increase the number of nuclear warheads and to allow allies to participate in deterrence exercises, Romania was invited to participate in discussions. However, Oana Ţoiu clarified that Romania's position on this matter is determined by the Supreme Council of National Defense, chaired by the President. She mentioned that the President will have relevant meetings on the subject, leaving the final response to his discretion. Eight European countries have agreed to participate in the "advanced discussion" initiative proposed by France.
