Nuclearelectrica, with a majority owned by the Ministry of Energy, has approved a contract with Framatome GmbH for the production of medical isotopes at the Cernavodă power plant. A rapid increase in demand for radioisotopes is expected, especially after 2027, due to the development of new therapeutic radiopharmaceutical products.
