President Nicușor Dan stated that, during the meeting at Cotroceni with the leaders of the governing coalition, there were no new tax increases discussed, but rather the measures already implemented were addressed.

He emphasized that Romanians have already borne a cost and that there will be no additional turbulence in the future. Nicușor Dan mentioned that inflation has reached 10% and purchasing power has decreased by the same proportion, warning that, without swift measures, the situation could have been even worse. He also mentioned that the laws regarding the reduction in public administration and economic relaunch are close to being adopted through emergency ordinance, and the budget debate could begin next week.
