Thousands of people attended the events organized in Iași for the Day of the Union, which was also attended by the President of Romania, Nicușor Dan. He emphasized the importance of national unity and urged participants not to boo during the national anthem or the ceremonies commemorating the heroes. Nicușor Dan highlighted that the union, which took place 167 years ago, was the result of the efforts of the political class and the entire society.
He also posed questions to those who contest the current society, urging them to present a concrete project for the future. The President acknowledged that booing is a democratic gesture, but emphasized the need to build a united society. The events included official speeches, wreath-laying ceremonies, and a folk show, while supporters of AUR and SOS Romania organized marches in the city.
