President Nicușor Dan arrived in Romania with a 24-hour delay, his flight being escorted by two F-18 planes in the airspace of Switzerland.

This gesture was a recognition of the help provided by Romania following the devastating fire in Crans-Montana, which resulted in the death of approximately 40 people. Romania sent a military aircraft to transport six young people with severe burns from Lausanne to hospitals in Paris. The Minister of Defense, Radu Miruță, emphasized that the support provided by the army is not conditioned by budgets or expenses, but is a humanitarian act. The president's flight was delayed due to unfavorable weather conditions, but he managed to take off after the weather improved.
