The President of Romania, Nicușor Dan, was caught in a discreet meeting at the Cornu Monastery, alongside the President of the Prahova County Council, Virgiliu Nanu, and the local mayor, Cornel Nanu, both members of PSD. Nanu emphasized the importance of normality and closeness to people in public office, in the context of Easter. The meeting took place at a time when Nicușor Dan is facing criticism from civil society and his supporters, being accused of an understanding with PSD regarding appointments to the leadership of major prosecutor's offices.

The former mayor of the Capital recently signed the decrees for the appointments to PICC, DNA, and DIICOT, rejecting accusations that the proposals were influenced by PSD. USR representatives expressed their disagreement with these appointments, highlighting the need for a transparent and trustworthy process in justice, criticizing the manner in which the appointments were made.
