President Nicușor Dan found out that Emil Gânj had an arrest warrant from 2023, but the dates were entered only after a recent murder, asking the interior minister for an explanation

President Nicușor Dan said he was not aware of the arrest warrant issued for Emil Gânj, which was not entered into the IPJ Mures database until this year after a murder. IPJ Mures clarified that entering the warrant is different from executing it. Since February 2024, the police started the search, and Gânj was alerted for violation of legal obligations. Dan will seek explanations from the interior minister and the prime minister.
