President Nicușor Dan will organize official consultations with parliamentary parties at the end of this week, on Thursday or Friday, to discuss the formation of a new government, sources cited by several publications say.
This meeting will take place after the B9 Summit on Wednesday, at the Cotroceni Palace. Official sources suggest that the nomination of a new prime minister could take place towards the end of May, after a new round of discussions.
According to sources cited by Digi24, HotNews, as well as Cotidianul, there would be four options on the negotiation table: a minority government around PSD (PSD, UDMR, and National Minorities), a Right-wing minority government (PNL, USR, and UDMR), a technocratic government, or a technocratic prime minister with political ministers.
According to HotNews, the option of restoring the coalition is also on the table, but without Ilie Bolojan.
Other sources, such as B1TV, talk about forming a political government, supported by a clear parliamentary majority, or installing a technocratic government, with a limited mandate and specific objectives.
Nicușor Dan will impose conditions regarding reforms and budget stability, including the necessity for the new government to present a budget project for 2027 this autumn.
