Nicușor Dan congratulates Andy Burnham for his appointment as prime minister

Nicușor Dan, the mayor of Bucharest, sent warmest congratulations to Andy Burnham on his appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

In a message published on platform X, Dan expressed his confidence that Great Britain will continue to play a significant role on the international stage under Burnham's leadership. He emphasized the importance of strengthening peace, security, and international cooperation, mentioning that Romania will deepen its collaboration with the United Kingdom both bilaterally and within NATO.

The mayor also reaffirmed Romania's commitment to the traditional friendship relationship with Great Britain, based on the Strategic Partnership. Nicușor Dan highlighted the essential role of the over one million Romanians living in the United Kingdom as a bridge between the two societies.

Andy Burnham officially took office as Prime Minister on Monday, promising deep reforms and national unity.
