Nicușor Dan has called on state institutions to seriously tackle domestic violence, following the murder of a 22-year-old woman killed by her ex-partner in front of her children. He underlined that many alarm signals have been ignored and strongly condemned violence against women. Romania faces an alarming level of violence, with over 130,000 cases reported last year. Dan promised to work with the future government to implement measures to protect victims. Protests were held in Victory Square demanding concrete action against the problem.
