New car registrations rose 26% in July 2025, but electric cars fell 17.8%.

The Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Importers (APIA) reports a 26% increase in new car registrations in July 2025 to 16,276 units. However, electric car registrations fell 17.8%, with a market share of just 3.2%. In the first seven months, registrations totaled 80,615 units, down 15.3% year-on-year. Dacia tops the sales charts, with models such as Logan, Duster and Sandero dominating the market.
