On October 24, a 27-year-old Nepalese man, who had recently arrived in Sibiu, was the victim of an assault in the commune of Șelimbăr. Two individuals, a young woman and a man, attacked him, snatching his phone and threatening him with a knife to obtain the password for his banking application. The young woman transferred 1,882 lei to her personal account, while the 39-year-old man threatened the victim.

After committing the act, the suspects returned the phone and left the premises. The police apprehended the two on November 5, and they are being investigated for aggravated robbery and other offenses. The investigations continue under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office attached to the Sibiu Tribunal, and the suspects will be presented to the court for preventive measures.
