The Minister of Finance, Alexandru Nazare, had discussions with representatives of the financial evaluation agency Fitch Ratings, presenting data on the budget execution from the first quarter and the evolution of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). Nazare emphasized that rating agencies, especially Fitch, are concerned about the political situation in Romania and that it is essential to provide them with clear information for an accurate assessment. He mentioned that the fiscal-budgetary trajectory must be a priority, considering the attention of the European Commission and investors.
He also discussed the stability of the leu-euro exchange rate, stating that the National Bank is making efforts to maintain control. Regarding his possible appointment as prime minister, Nazare highlighted the importance of his projects at the Ministry of Finance, including digitalization and the absorption of PNRR funds. In this context, Parliament recently adopted a motion of no confidence against the government led by Ilie Bolojan.
