A mountain guide, vice president of the Romanian Alpine Club – Bucharest Branch, is being investigated for manslaughter after a tragic accident that occurred on July 11 in the Caraiman massif, where one person died and three others were injured.

The Prosecutor's Office next to the Prahova Tribunal announced that investigations are being conducted for manslaughter and bodily harm due to negligence. The guide organized a workshop for self-sufficient movement in mountainous terrain but disregarded safety measures, changing the initial route to a more difficult one without having the necessary equipment.

During the descent, a piton failed, causing a student to fall from 15 meters, which led to their death and the injury of the other participants. The guide has been placed under judicial control for 60 days and cannot practice as a mountain guide during this period.
