A recent report from the Control Body of the Ministry of Transport reveals serious financial problems at Metrorex, including the non-collection of 60 million euros in penalties for the delay of a contract. Radu Miruță, the interim Minister of Transport, emphasized that Metrorex has awarded hundreds of contracts without bidding and has encountered delays in issuing invoices for penalties. Additionally, the commercial spaces in the metro stations have not been rented through proper procedures, and advertising contracts have been awarded without real competition. Miruță announced the intention to dismiss the general director of Metrorex, Mariana Miclăuș, for failing to meet financial indicators. The report was conducted by an auditing firm and highlights the immense risks of bankruptcy for the company, which is facing significant losses and poor resource management.
