The mayor of the city of Sinaia, Vlad Oprea, announced on social media that he is returning to the City Hall, after a period in which he was suspended and was in preventive detention in a corruption case. Oprea emphasized that the city needs people who work and not those who make political calculations. He promised that he will return with seriousness and transparency, continuing projects for the community. Oprea was suspended at the end of January, being accused of acts such as bribery, influence peddling, and abuse of office. He was also placed under judicial control, having the prohibition to go to the City Hall. Prosecutors later placed him in preventive detention, suspecting that he tried to influence decisions in the city hall.
