The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, warned that the Bucharest Transport Company (STB) could go bankrupt if it does not implement measures for efficiency and cost reduction. In a press conference, he asked the members of the Board of Administration to come up with concrete proposals, emphasizing that spending cuts should start with TESA staff, while simultaneously protecting the jobs of drivers and conductors.

Ciucu mentioned that he has been waiting for a month and a half for measures from STB and threatened to dismiss board members if they do not fulfill their duties. The mayor emphasized that without efficiency, STB will not receive the necessary funds and warned that, in the absence of internal resources, external solutions, including bankruptcy, will be sought. Since taking office, the mayor has requested analyses and reorganizations to reduce costs and manage the company's debts.
