The general mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that he supports the right of all citizens to manifest publicly, including within Pride events, emphasizing that decisions regarding their organization do not depend on his personal will. In a discussion about the approval of these manifestations, Ciucu rejected the idea that a mayor could arbitrarily ban such events, stating that he desires a free society.

He emphasized the importance of the right to express oneself in a democracy, mentioning that any citizen has the right to express themselves in their city, which is a European capital. The mayor highlighted that all forms of public manifestation must be treated equally, including support for events organized by the church.

The only condition mentioned by Ciucu is the respect for norms of civilized and decent coexistence.
