The Mayor of the Capital, Ciprian Ciucu, stated that all projects initiated by the Bucharest City Hall will continue, despite financial difficulties. He had discussions with representatives of the European Investment Bank to secure co-financing for the works from European funds. Among the important projects is the modernization of 50 kilometers of tram lines, with 4.5 km completed and 26 km under execution, with everything expected to be ready by 2029.


Additionally, the reception of the Basarab Passage will be carried out to allow for maintenance works. Other discussed projects include accelerating works on the Ghencea Extension, rehabilitating Dimitrie Pompeiu Boulevard, and strengthening the Bucur Maternity Hospital. The mayor emphasized his commitment to transforming the Capital and the need to obtain funds for urban regeneration.
