Diana Buzoianu coordinated a large-scale operation in Sintești against the illegal waste mafia, with the participation of 200 police officers and gendarmes.

In Sintești, Ilfov County, one of the largest control actions against the illegal waste mafia took place, coordinated by the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu. The action was made possible after a month of monitoring conducted by the National Environmental Guard with the help of drones. Approximately 200 police officers, gendarmes, and special forces raided several addresses known for the fires caused by the illegal burning of waste, affecting air quality in Bucharest.

So far, tons of materials, especially illegally held iron, have been seized. Buzoianu announced that criminal complaints will be filed based on the evidence gathered, including recordings. Significant fines have also been imposed, totaling approximately 200,000 lei. The action underscores the authorities' commitment to combating the phenomenon of illegal waste in the area.
