The investigators carried out three home searches in Alba Iulia, where they discovered restricted substances used as precursors for explosives. Between May 11 and 13, 2026, the man used the data of a deceased person and a legal entity from Sibiu County to purchase, from a company in Cluj-Napoca, substances prohibited to the public.

He falsely signed tax invoices and declarations related to the use of the substances. Following the searches, 10.25 kilograms of hydrogen peroxide, 154 kilograms of nitric acid, and 17.7 kilograms of sulfuric acid were confiscated, all classified as restricted explosive precursors. The man was detained for 24 hours and is being investigated for violating the regime of explosive precursors and forgery in writings.

The action benefited from the support of the Romanian Intelligence Service and police officers from several counties. Authorities emphasize the risks associated with the possession and use of these substances.
