Botoșani: Raids on a group of smugglers. The leader of the gang has been detained.

The police in Botoșani conducted 11 searches as part of a criminal case involving extortion, home invasion, influencing statements, and threats against a man accused of providing unauthorized loans with interest since 2018, and in cases where these were not repaid, the debtors were subjected to pressure and threats.

The searches were carried out in the localities of Darabani, Păltiniș, and Mileanca, at private individuals, a commercial unit, and other properties owned by the suspect. 

The police of the Botoșani Criminal Investigation Service issued a detention order for 24 hours against a 51-year-old man from Darabani, investigated for committing the crimes of extortion, home invasion, influencing statements, and threats.
