Throughout the summer, the City Hall of Sector 1 will monitor the noise level in restaurants and clubs, applying sanctions for exceeding the 75 dB limit.

Starting June 18, the City Hall of Sector 1 has announced that local police officers will carry out weekly noise level checks at clubs and restaurants on the shores of Lake Herăstrău. Using sound level meters, they will measure the sound level 15 meters from the noise source, with a maximum permissible threshold of 75 decibels. Penalties for exceeding this threshold range from fines of between 10,000 and 80,000 lei for noise pollution to fines of 200-1,500 lei for disturbing the peace. Citizens can report problems to the local police dispatch.
