The LGBT march, held on Saturday, July 25, in Oradea, took place without approval from the local administration. Under these conditions, law enforcement imposed fines on the organizers and participants, citing non-compliance with legal provisions.

Demonstrators gathered in front of the City Hall and started marching on a route that included Independence Street and Union Square, despite warnings from the gendarmes who reminded them that the gathering was not authorized. Despite the sanctions, participants continued to parade, chanting messages such as "Our rights are not stolen" and "Equal rights, not underground passages."

The Ombudsman, Renate Weber, present at the event, emphasized the right to peaceful assembly:

"These are things that are provided for in the Constitution of Romania, and they are also provided for in the European Convention on Human Rights. We have a lot of jurisprudence in this regard, and it seems absolutely normal to me that in Romania we should respect these rights and freedoms".
