The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, recently announced a series of legislative changes aimed at developing specialty outpatient clinics, improving the response capacity of the medical system. These changes aim to extend the outpatient program until 8:00 PM, simplify the organization of the schedule and rotation of doctors, as well as increase the payment point per medical service to 6.5 lei. Doctors in integrated outpatient clinics will benefit from corresponding salary rights.

These measures will allow hospital managers to use human resources more efficiently and to extend the program where necessary. The outpatient clinic thus becomes a central element in the medical system, facilitating rapid diagnoses and timely treatments, reducing pressure on emergency hospitals. Additionally, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), 69 outpatient clinics have been rehabilitated and properly equipped.

Starting next year, three national screening and prevention programs will be implemented, strengthening the role of outpatient clinics in prevention and continuous care. These changes will provide patients with faster access to medical services, shorter waiting times, and care closer to home.
