Adriana Georgescu, lawyer caught in the act by DNA receiving 60,000 euros in bribes for interventions in justice, and her accomplice, Gheorghe Iscru, who claimed to be a SIE general, have been released from preventive detention and placed under house arrest.
The High Court of Cassation and Justice has accepted their appeals against preventive detention, ordering their placement under house arrest for 22 days, starting from February 5, 2026.
The court imposed the obligation for them not to leave their residence without permission and to wear electronic surveillance devices.
Investigators claim that Georgescu requested between 100,000 and 1,000,000 euros for the electoral campaign of a candidate for the Capital City Hall and claimed influence over some judges and the chief prosecutor of DNA.
The court's decision is final.
