In Slatina, a landslide led to the evacuation of 25 people, including nine children, from seven houses on Grădiște Street. Mayor Mario de Mezzo stated that these homes were not built with permits and some do not even have foundations, making them vulnerable. The landslide is caused by natural factors, such as soil erosion and recent heavy rainfall.
Local authorities, including ISU and the Police, are monitoring the situation and providing emergency assistance to the evacuees, who will be housed in containers. De Mezzo emphasized that those who built without permits were aware of the risks, and measures to prevent damage to utility networks are being implemented. The State Inspectorate in Construction will check the affected buildings and take safety measures.
