Moldova's President Maia Sandu has accused Russia of planning an unprecedented interference in September's parliamentary elections, claiming that Moscow intended to destabilize the electoral process through disinformation campaigns and hidden funding. The Kremlin, through spokesman Dmitry Peskov, denied the accusations, saying Russia does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and that the electoral rights of Moldovans abroad are restricted. Sandu detailed the methods by which Russia would seek to influence the elections, including illegal funding and information manipulation.
