Experts have discovered a dangerous malware called Keenadu, which infects Android devices and allows cybercriminals to take complete control of them. By February 2026, over 13,000 infected devices have been detected globally. Keenadu can be pre-installed in the device's firmware, integrated into system applications, or downloaded from official stores without the user noticing anything suspicious.

This malware acts as a "backdoor," providing hackers with unlimited access to the device, including multimedia files, private messages, banking data, and location information. In some cases, it has been integrated into facial unlock applications, exposing users' biometric data. Spain is among the countries with the highest detections of this malware, which is actively spreading in other European countries as well. Experts recommend installing trusted mobile security solutions and avoiding downloading applications from unofficial sources, as well as performing a full scan of the device in case of unusual behaviors. Keenadu represents a serious threat, being difficult to detect and remove by conventional methods.
