On Monday morning, a kangaroo was spotted near a railway line in Zingem, Flanders, causing temporary disruptions in rail traffic. The incident was reported around 09:00, according to Infrabel's spokesperson, Frédéric Sacré.
Traffic on the secondary line was halted for an hour while the police attempted to catch the animal, but without success. Subsequently, the help of a veterinarian was requested, who managed to capture the kangaroo. Sacré mentioned that such appearances are unusual, emphasizing that they usually deal with disruptions caused by domestic animals, such as cows or sheep. He also recalled a previous incident involving an alpaca.
