He criticized the isolation ideas promoted by some politicians, stating that Romania has obtained clear guarantees for industry and agriculture following negotiations. The agreement will almost completely reduce customs duties on Romanian products, facilitating access to cheaper raw materials and creating jobs in sectors such as the automotive and electrical industries. In 2023, Romanian companies paid over 47 million euros in customs duties for exports to Mercosur, duties that will disappear after the agreement is implemented. Additionally, Romanian agriculture will be protected by limiting sensitive imports and by protecting 15 products with geographical indications.
