Former President Ion Iliescu has been hospitalized at the Agrippa Ionescu Hospital since June 9, having respiratory problems and diagnosed with lung cancer. According to the hospital, his condition is stable, but he requires additional oxygen. Iliescu is receiving advanced medical care and will remain under observation. His last public appearance was in 2019, and he has continued to communicate through his personal blog.
