The Competition Council has initiated an investigation regarding a possible agreement between Konica Minolta Business Solutions Romania SRL, General Systems SRL, and General Systems & Distribution SRL, in the field of marketing printing equipment and imaging, as well as electronic security systems.
The competition authority suspects that the three companies may have collaborated to set resale prices, restrict the market, and prohibit exports. In this context, surprise inspections were carried out at the Konica Minolta headquarters, authorized by the Bucharest Court of Appeal, to obtain the necessary documents to clarify these possible anti-competitive practices.
Representatives of the Council emphasize that these inspections do not constitute a pre-judgment regarding the companies' guilt. If a violation of competition rules is found, the involved companies could be fined up to 10% of their turnover.
