The Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, announced on Monday the discovery of an illegally buried gas tank on the beaches of Năvodari, during the preparations for the beach for the summer season.

The incident occurred in the area of the former Lujo terrace, when a machine damaged the tank. Authorities intervened quickly, securing the area and alerting the police, who began investigations to establish responsibilities.

The tank was illegally buried by the economic operator managing the terrace, without the agreement of the National Administration 'Apele Române'.

The rental contract expired in October 2025, and the operator was required to remove the equipment from the beach.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Environment will apply a zero tolerance policy towards illegalities that endanger public safety.
