On the occasion of Romania's National Independence Day, interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent a message highlighting the current challenges facing the country. He stated that the main challenge is to improve the functioning of institutions and administration, to ensure efficiency and fairness for all citizens.
Bolojan recalled the courage of the leaders in 1877, Mihail Kogălniceanu and Carol I, who proclaimed Romania's independence, emphasizing that freedom must be earned and defended. The Prime Minister insisted on the need for deep reforms in administration, economy, and public services, mentioning that the independence gained imposes responsibility. He encouraged the continuation of the state's modernization through solid institutions and reducing waste, in order to regain citizens' trust.
In conclusion, Bolojan emphasized the duty of the current generation to carry Romania forward through hard work and correct decisions, wishing the Romanians a "Happy Independence Day!"
