During the heatwave, first-aid units are crowded with tourists suffering from burns, allergies and rashes caused by excessive sun exposure. Dermatologists warn that conditions like lupus or acne can be aggravated by the sun. Tourists are advised to avoid peak hours for sunbathing, use high SPF creams and protect themselves properly. Farmers in southern Romania are also facing severe problems caused by the heatwave, having to slaughter animals.
