Health Minister Alexandru Rogobete has said that he will resign if the National Health Insurance Fund (CNAS) computer system is not implemented by the December 2026 deadline. The project, funded by the PNRR with €400 million, aims to digitize health services, including the introduction of the electronic record and electronic prescription. The new system will allow patients to access medical data and will include SMS validation of medical services to prevent fictitious billing. The health card could also be integrated into the new ID card.
