The hackers behind Anna's Archive breached Spotify's systems, copying approximately 86 million songs. At the end of December, they announced that they had accessed the streaming platform's servers. Following the attack, Spotify and major record labels, such as Universal, Warner, and Sony, filed a lawsuit to stop the distribution of the stolen music. Although they obtained a court ruling on January 16 that prohibited the publication of the songs, the hackers violated this ban. About a month and a half later, they published 2.8 million songs on torrent trackers, totaling 6TB of music, plus 29GB of information about the songs. Unlike others, they do not ask for money, but offer free access to the stolen music.
