An exceptional discovery took place in Prahova, where a man found a treasure hidden 3,000 years ago, consisting of three gold necklaces and other artifacts, with a total weight of over 300 grams.
This was achieved with the help of a metal detector, during a walk on the hills near Urlați. The man dug at a depth of 25 centimeters, where he discovered the first signs of the treasure, including iron wheels and gold bracelets.
Aware of his legal obligation, he handed over the discovery to the Prahova County Directorate of Culture, where the artifacts were taken for analysis. Archaeologists, including specialist Alin Frenculeasa, believe that the discovery could change the current understanding of the Bronze and Iron Ages.
The pieces will be studied to determine the exact period and context in which they were hidden, and will later be displayed to the public.
