George Simion, the leader of the extremist party AUR, announced that he will have protection from the SPP, starting tomorrow, to prevent an assassination, stating that it is a normal measure. During the same conference, Simion also attacked the press, calling it "progressive" and "satanic," following criticism of his speech. This statement comes against the backdrop of a trend observed among political leaders, such as Liviu Dragnea, who previously claimed he had been targeted for assassination. Dragnea reported threats and suspicious behaviors, suggesting that he had been followed. Experts, such as psychiatrist Eugen Hriscu, have tried to explain these claims as a projection of stress and anxiety, suggesting that political leaders may perceive non-existent threats under extreme pressure.
