AUR President George Simion accuses Polish Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński of spreading false information about the ideological profile of the attacker in Kraków. The reaction comes after the attack carried out in the city center, in which six people died and another 16 were injured.
In a message posted on X, Simion claims that the attacker had “clearly far-left tendencies” and criticizes the Polish minister for stating that the man was fascinated by far-right ideologies. The AUR leader accused the government led by Donald Tusk of “destroying Poland”.
“In the midst of this nightmare, Donald Tusk’s Interior Minister, Marcin Kierwiński, lied shamelessly, claiming that the attacker in Kraków had “right-wing nationalist” beliefs,” Simion wrote, according to cotidianul.ro.
Polish authorities stated that the suspect is a 25-year-old Polish citizen, originally from Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, who worked as a lathe operator and had no military training. Police say that he had no criminal record and had not previously come to the attention of law enforcement.
