In an exclusive interview for Gândul, George Maior, former director of SRI and current ambassador of Romania in Jordan, analyzes the United States' decision to launch military attacks against Iran. He emphasizes that, unlike previous presidents, Trump has chosen a more aggressive approach, believing that negotiation methods and sanctions have not yielded results. Maior discusses the mood in Jordan, where the war in Iran does not directly affect the Palestinian issue, but is perceived as a threat to national security.

He also mentions that Jordan collaborates closely with Romania and other European states to ensure assistance for Romanian citizens in the region. Maior emphasizes that the security architecture in the Middle East could evolve positively if threats related to the Iranian nuclear program are eliminated, but significant uncertainty remains. In the end, he warns that social changes in Iran will not occur quickly, considering the cultural and historical complexity of Iranian society.
