Catherine Vautrin, the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, stated that the number of French soldiers in Romania remains constant, according to the commitments established within the Alliance.

During a meeting with the Minister of National Defense, Ionuț Moșteanu, the possible replacement of American troops leaving Romania was discussed.

Moșteanu emphasized that NATO's defense strategy is continuously adapting to new realities, mentioning that American troops have been essential since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine.

He also mentioned that Europe has become more prepared to defend itself, while the United States is focusing its military efforts in other regions, such as the Indo-Pacific.
