Ford has announced the development of a new compact SUV, named Bronco, which will be produced at the factory in Valencia, Spain, the same one that assembles the Ford Kuga. Production is estimated at over 300,000 units annually. Although the Bronco will have few ties to the American versions, it will use the Kuga platform, allowing for hybrid and plug-in hybrid engine options. The new model will have typical C-SUV dimensions, being smaller than the Kuga, and will compete in the popular segment in Europe. The launch schedule anticipates an official debut in 2027, and the first information will be available next year. Ford currently has no compact model with combustion or hybrid engines after the cessation of Focus production.
