Five drug traffickers arrested preventively in Iași / The drugs were hidden in a tire repair shop

The police officers of the Organized Crime Combat Brigade (BCCO) and DIICOT prosecutors have arrested five individuals involved in a drug trafficking network, which was operating in a tire repair shop in Iași.

Between August 2025 and May 2026, the suspects, aged between 38 and 50, allegedly procured and sold cocaine, a high-risk drug, at a price of 500 lei per gram. They acted independently but had collaborative relationships for procuring the banned substances intended for sale in Iași. One of the suspects used the tire repair shop as a storage and sales location for the drugs, to avoid attracting the attention of the authorities.

Following the searches conducted on May 18, approximately 55 grams of cocaine, one kilogram of cocaine hidden in an oil can, and over 730 grams of cannabis were discovered. The five individuals were detained on May 18 and 19, and the Iași Tribunal decided to place them in preventive custody for 30 days.
