A volunteer firefighter from the Drăgușeni commune, Galați County, was stopped by the police during a mission to extinguish a fire. The police officers, who were heading to the same incident, sanctioned him on the grounds that he did not give priority to the police vehicle and that he used the flashing lights and siren without authorization.
The incident took place on February 3, and after the subject was publicized, the Galați Police Inspectorate provided explanations. Thus, the Galați Police Inspectorate claims that the firefighter did not respect, during the intervention, the police's light signals and used unauthorized devices. As a result, he received a fine of 3,037.5 lei and his driving license was suspended for 120 days. The firefighter contested the fine, emphasizing that he was on a mission.
