On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a significant fire broke out at a house in the Arad town of Curtici, caused by an electric scooter left charging.
The homeowners evacuated in time, so no casualties were reported. The scooter was left in an annex, and the fire was triggered by a short circuit of the battery, which quickly spread to the roof of the house. The military firefighters from Arad, supported by the volunteers from Curtici, intervened, but the flames engulfed an area of approximately 150 square meters.
The fire was contained and extinguished without any casualties; however, the damages are considerable, including the destruction of the annex and damage to the roof and interior of the house. The Arad Emergency Situations Inspectorate confirmed that the electrical installations of the house showed no obvious defects.
