Firefighters are working to extinguish a fire at the Paroseni Thermal Power Plant, without affecting the power supply in the area.

On Monday, firefighters from ISU Hunedoara intervened to extinguish a fire that broke out at a transformer in the premises of Paroseni Thermal Power Plant. With four fire engines, the intervention was aimed at extinguishing the fire and preventing the flames from spreading to a nearby electrical generator. The authorities have assured that the electricity supply in the Jiului Valley is not affected, but as a safety measure, miners from the Vulcan and Lupeni mines have been evacuated to the surface.
